The National College of Ireland is a non-profit and state-aided institute for higher education in Ireland. Established in 1951, NCI was well known for its industry-oriented courses and after the Second World War, offered free education to civilians. NCI has been expanding based on the requests of employers, owing to the quality of education offered. In 2002, the relocation of NCI to its IFSC Docklands ‘campus without walls’ presented an exciting opportunity to further develop the College’s core mission and vision. The move to Dublin Docklands enabled the College to engage more effectively at the international level and facilitate stronger international participation in NCI programs. The college provides internationally recognized full-time and part-time programs duly accredited by QQI through schools of computing and business. Established in the year 1951, the institute boasts a network of more than 50, 000 alumni throughout the world. The NCI has good connections with some of the most popular universities in the United States. For example, the Masters in Cloud Computing program at this college has been designed in close collaboration with professors coming from UC, Stanford, Cornell, and Berkeley.
